DIY S’mores Bar: Stovetop Style
It’s the beginning of August, and I have s’mores on my mind. Two things in particular:
- News alert: You don’t have to wait for a campfire to make s’mores
- S’mores can be more than just marshmallows, graham crackers, and chocolate bars
S’mores can be made year-round (on the stovetop) and they can be decked up in all sorts of ways (see below for a bunch of ideas).
A Build-Your Own S’mores Bar
Why not make a DIY s’mores bar for your next get-together?
Whether you’re planning a baby shower, bridal shower, wedding, or other celebration, your guests will undoubtedly love creating their own dessert.
A DIY s’mores bar is an extremely easy dessert option with minimal prep time. Simply lay out all of your toppings and let guests build their own s’mores.
Pedicures and S’mores: The Perfect Girl’s Night
The other night, I got together with some friends for pedicures, pizza, wine. and an unanticipated dessert. It was the perfect summer evening. Here are our pedicured feet:
After dinner, the host (my friend Ellen) asked if anyone wanted s’mores. We shouted out a collective “yes”, but scratched our heads wondering how she would toast marshmallows without a flame.
Well, we learned something awesome that night: You don’t have to have a campfire to make s’mores. Just a gas stove. Indoor s’mores. Brilliant idea. Thanks Ellen!
DIY S'Mores Bar
Practice safe indoor s'mores making: To make stovetop s'mores, you'll need a fork, metal chopstick, or other non-flammable object to put a marshmallow on. The technique isn't much different than traditional campfire s'mores making. Just be extra careful because you're inside. Beware of oozy melting marshmallow, and have a bucket of water on hand just in case.
Ingredients
Basic ingredients
- Graham crackers
- Large marshmallows
Topping options
- Hershey's chocolate bars
- White chocolate bars
- Peanut butter cups
- Almond butter
- Peppermint patties
- Mint chocolate chips
- Nutella
- Peanut butter
- Toasted almonds
- Sliced bananas
- Sliced strawberries
- Cinnamon-sugar
- Sea salt flakes
Instructions

Fantastic ideas for s’mores! I have never used anything except the usual three ingredients and I don’t like how the hershey bars never fully melt. I am definitely going to try nutella next time. And bananas? YES, I am adding them also.
LOVE * LOVE * LOVE! They all look so yummy! I especially like the sea salt idea! 🙂
As a man, I have to ask if the pedicure part is optional?? Lol! But seriously, very creative s’more recipe. I look forward to trying it out this weekend.
What a great idea! Love the look of your blog.
Thanks Karen!
