Entertaining on a budget: Use crostini

First rule about entertaining on a budget: Don’t let a tight budget keep you from entertaining friends and family in your home. Throwing a great party does not, I repeat, does not have to cost a lot of money.

Crostini with toppings is one of the most bang-for-your buck appetizers out there. A loaf of French bread costs right around $2. One loaf makes about 25 crostini.

What you choose to put on top of the crostini is up to you, but remember: the sky is the limit. Scour your fridge for ingredients you already have on hand. I’ve shared several budget-friendly ideas over at the Betty Crocker website, so be sure to check them out!

Otherwise, here are some ideas to get you started:

  1. Preheat oven to 375F. Slice baguette into 1/4-inch slices.
  2. Place bread slices on a large baking sheet.
