50+ Cheap Strawberry Recipes
Strawberries are a very budget-friendly fruit.
And as you can see here, they can be enjoyed in so many different ways!
I’m sharing 50+ cheap strawberry recipes with you — everything from desserts to breakfasts to dinner – sweet and savory, and everything in between.
Strawberries Are An Affordable Fruit
Strawberries are more affordable than other berries, such as blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries.
In the grocery store, strawberries are usually sold in one-pound packages (I usually can find a container for about $3.00), while blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries are sold in 6-ounce packages – often for about the same price.
Organic strawberries are more expensive. However, purchasing frozen organic strawberries is a good option for those looking to save money. Frozen strawberries can’t be used as a substitute for fresh strawberries in every recipe, so do some research before proceeding with your recipe.
While I love eating strawberries plain, cut up in my cereal, or drizzled with heavy cream, sometimes it’s fun to experiment with new recipes.

Save Money On Strawberries
Strawberries are not the most expensive berry – not by a long shot. But there are still ways to save money on this affordable fruit:
- Buy on sale: If you find strawberries on sale and plan on using them, buy extra and freeze for future use.
- Buy in season: Strawberries are cheaper when they’re in season. Check your local farmer’s market or local grocery store for deals.
- Learn to properly freeze fresh strawberries: To freeze strawberries, rinse the fruit and remove stems. Lay on a paper towel-lined surface to dry. Cut into pieces (or you can leave the fruit whole). Place on a large baking sheet and freeze. Place the frozen strawberry pieces in a plastic bag or other container until ready to use.
- Buy frozen strawberries at the grocery store: Frozen strawberries are almost always cheaper than fresh. Frozen strawberries can be used in place of fresh strawberry recipes when the recipe calls for cooking or baking the strawberries. Use discretion when using frozen strawberries in other types of recipes.
