You’ll Need One Ingredient To Make This Syrup
Here’s the deal.
You truly only need one ingredient to make the most flavorful syrup. What is it?
Apple cider.
A few years ago I made a homemade apple soda that called for apple cider syrup and carbonated water.
I was reminded of the apple syrup recently and decided to make another batch. And it was even more delicious than I remembered.
All you’ll need to make the syrup is a large container of apple cider. I used a 64-ounce container of apple cider – simmered it for about an hour – and was left with about 8 ounces of thick, concentrated, apple-flavored syrup.
That’s right: 64 ounces of apple cider boiled down yields about a cup of apple cider syrup.
So all of that apple flavor from a jug of apple cider ends up in the boiled down syrup resulting in a super concentrated, nearly caramelized syrup.
