Thrift Store Christmas Shopping
How did I spend an oddly warm December Saturday in Minnesota? Thrift shopping, of course!
I wanted to challenge myself to find great secondhand Christmas gifts. I went to my favorite Thrift Shop (Arc’s Value Village) and spent 2 hours digging deep. I ended up buying a few Christmas gifts (spoiler alert!):
- A sweater for my dad
- 2 new in package CDs (Harry Connick Jr. and a local band)
- A gift box (technically not a gift, but I love looking for creative packaging options!)
I also took a bunch of photos of items that make great gifts. I hope you find some inspiration below:
Do you buy gifts at thrift shops? Do you think it’s tacky – or acceptable – to purchase secondhand gifts? I’d love to hear your thoughts below!
I have done that quite a few times. For gifts, I look for new tagged items. I look for nice quality items for myself, wash whatever it is (cloths, toys, or dishes), use them and often times get compliments on them.
I buy thrifted clothes all the time and seem to always get compliments on them. I even found a Mossimo coat that I wish I had bought when it was new 10 years ago… at a thrift shop!
I love Arc’s Value Village too! Have you ever been to see the personal stylist, Michelle? She is awesome! I love buying secondhand gifts and our family buys used gifts for birthdays and Christmas! So fun and totally acceptable!
I haven’t been to the personal stylist but I am intrigued!! Thanks for the tip ๐
