Pumpkin

There is shortage of pumpkin recipes out there on food blogs. I, for one, love pumpkin recipes, but I realize that the world doesn’t need ANOTHER pumpkin pie or pumpkin bar recipe.

Which is why I’ve focused on creating UNIQUE, different, out-of-the-ordinary pumpkin recipes.

For example: Have you ever heard of doce de abobora, a popular Brazilian recipe that translates to “sweet pumpkin”? It’s a thick pumpkin compote that can be eaten alone, with a bit of cream on top, or can be used to fill individual hand pies.

The pumpkin spice dessert pizza is another unique pumpkin recipe. If you’re a dessert pizza fan, you have to try this recipe.

The pumpkin hummus is a savory spin on pumpkin. It is subtly spiced to bring out the warm flavors of pumpkin without being sweet.

The moist pumpkin cookies with cream cheese frosting is my all-time favorite pumpkin recipe. I make a batch every year. They’re foolproof, and totally melt in your mouth.

Pumpkin, whether you buy it in a can or cook it yourself, is an inexpensive ingredient that can be used in so many recipes, both sweet and savory. Think outside of the box, and try some of these unique and affordable pumpkin recipes.
